Adopt America Network, an adoption agency based in Ohio helps the public county and state agencies find permanent homes for domestic special needs children caught in the foster care system throughout the country. The agency places over 120 children per year through its network of 21 field offices in 14 states throughout the country. Adopt America Network needed a database that would allow them to match available children with waiting families.

Enter G. Brit Eaton with CompuTrain, an Authorized Marketing Partner with TeleMagic. Adopt America Network wanted to utilize the information that is made available by public agencies. These agencies produce photo and brief child profiles of available children and publish that information on various websites and in photo listings in almost every state. CompuTrain recommended TeleMagic to capture and track this information. CompuTrain developed a database in TeleMagic that enables the client to track, search and match all the information surrounding the potential placement of the children.

"The use of TeleMagic is an absolute essential tool in adoption matching," said Kathleen Hoodlett, LSW, Adoption Assessor for Adopt America Network. "With its databases - Child, Family and Agency - and various functions like filtering, WP (word processing), calendar, etc. at such a fast speed, there is no other tool as efficient as TeleMagic. It would be extremely difficult to perform my job duties without TeleMagic."

G. Brit Eaton of CompuTrain, Inc. states "Dick Ransom, founder of both Hickory Farms of Ohio and Adopt America Network gave me the following advice: 'Find a non-profit agency, church or similar organization like Adopt America and customize TeleMagic to meet their needs. In that way you will create a vertical application which extends their mission and thereby meet the needs of an entire industry like the adoption community.' I did just that, and donated my time to design an application for Adopt America. Little did I know that I would fall in love with their mission while also helping other states and private adoption agencies across the country accelerate and expand their ability to find homes for waiting children."

G. Brit Eaton of CompuTrain has offered to provide any adoption agency - public and/or private - a template of this application. Through the use of TeleMagic, all of the pieces of information that must be collected and maintained throughout the foster care and adoption process give workers the clearest picture of a child's current status. TeleMagic adds another important function to this vertical application, since websites are becoming a vital means to provide these children with a family of their own.
