These errors indicate there is a damaged index file. If your indexes become corrupted, the following are the procedures for replacing them. If you are receiving the DBFNTX/1012 error but the file name given is a DBF (database) file and not an NTX (index) file, please see help file #V14146.
Note: This procedure uses the TeleMagic Rebuild. Before proceeding, make sure that you have a full and complete backup of TeleMagic, and that all users are out of the program.
In DOS, change to the directory where the TeleMagic database is located (on a local installation, this would be C:\TM. Change the drive letter and directory to what is appropriate to your system).
Type the following lines:
REN *.NTX *.OLD
Note: The above command will rename all indexes. If the error message you are receiving gives a specific file name, you can type REN FILENAME.NTX FILENAME.OLD instead.
REN TMSCREEN.OLD TMSCREEN.NTX
The above step is required for Version 14.0 and 12.3x. With TeleMagic V14.1, the TMSCREEN files are rebuilt along with the other database files, which means there is no need to rename the file back to TMSCREEN.NTX. If you are unsure of the version that you are running, and you can start TeleMagic, you should be able to hit the F4 key and display the version.
MAGIC RO
The above command will run a Magic Rebuild. After the rebuild is complete, start TeleMagic to verify that everything is working properly.
